Look at the sticker on the bottom of your router. D-Link firmware is strictly tied to specific hardware revisions (e.g., Hardware Version Ax, Bx, or Cx). Installing firmware meant for "Hardware A" onto "Hardware B" will break the router.

Double-check your APN settings. Sometimes firmware updates wipe custom APN profiles required by your SIM card provider.
