The process is not illegal nor does it permanently damage the printer if done correctly. It simply restores the counter so you can continue using a perfectly functional machine. Follow this guide carefully, always clean the pad first, and you can double or triple the life of your EcoTank printer.

Changing other settings in AdjProg (like head ID or EEPROM) can permanently damage your printer. Only touch the waste ink counter.

The Epson L396 uses a simple optical sensor. Sometimes air bubbles or a glitch prevents it from detecting the new ink level. You need a hard reset or a manual reset via the buttons.
