Just as a sculptor chips away marble to find the form, the digital artist must strip away the superfluous detail to find the feeling. The hyper-realism of the movie camera often lies to us; it shows us the sweat on a brow but hides the desperation behind the eyes. To convert this to "art," we must blur the lines.
