The movie takes place after the events of the original "Madagascar" film, where the penguins - Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, and Private - are still living in Antarctica. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted when they discover that a sinister octopus named Dave, voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, is threatening the world's penguin population. The penguins team up with a top-secret organization called the North Wind, consisting of four other animals - Shorty, a young Arctic fox; Corporal, a wolf; Classified, a snowy owl; and Dave's former assistant, Eva - to stop Dave's evil plan.
