The story follows Raghu (Varun Dhawan), a man whose life is shattered when his wife and son are killed during a bank robbery gone wrong. While one robber, Liak (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), is caught and sentenced to 20 years, the other escapes with the loot. Raghu spends the next fifteen years in the quiet town of Badlapur, not for peace, but to nurture a cold, calculated rage.
