Frogger , originally released by Konami in 1981, is a pillar of the Golden Age of arcade games. Its reappearance on the in 2006 modernized the classic. However, within the console modification community (specifically JTAG/RGH ), this version takes on a third life—not as a commercial product, but as a preserved, modified, or emulated asset. This paper compares the authentic arcade experience, the official XBLA port, and the unique role of JTAG/RGH consoles in archiving and altering the game.
