Maya was a senior majoring in music production, and her thesis was a deep dive into the evolution of West Coast rap production techniques. The idea of having every Snoop Dogg track at her fingertips—studio stems, vocal takes, the raw drum loops that gave “Gin & Juice” its bounce—was a researcher's dream.
