Do not download firmware for the F-ST 5366 from random file-sharing sites (Mediafire, Dropbox, random Reddit links). These files can be infected with malware or are designed for a different ISP configuration. Installing the wrong firmware can permanently "brick" your router (turn it into a useless paperweight).

If you are experiencing persistent bugs or slow speeds, your ISP can often trigger an update remotely.
The Sagemcom F-ST 5366 is a capable dual-band fiber gateway, but only if kept current. A 2023 or 2024 firmware build can still deliver stable 500 Mbps–1 Gbps speeds. However, a router without security updates after 2025 should be retired.
