Diskografija - Brkovi

8. By (2015), Brkovi had shed their "joke band" label. This album is widely considered their masterpiece. The production (handled by members of the band Hladno Pivo) was crisp yet gritty, allowing the bass lines and dual vocals to shine. Lyrically, the band took direct aim at nationalism, historical revisionism, and economic despair in post-war Croatia. The title track, "Mrtvi bez groba" , addressed unmarked war graves and collective amnesia—a serious departure from their earlier beer-soaked anthems. Critics praised the album for proving that punk could grow old gracefully without losing its fangs. Iako tehnički nije studijski album novih pjesama, ovo

Brkovi’s earliest recordings are raw artifacts of a specific time and place: post-war Pančevo, an industrial satellite city of Belgrade. The band’s first demo, (1996), is a collector’s rarity today, existing only on cassette. Musically, it owes a heavy debt to UK82 punk (Discharge, GBH) and early Serbian punk acts like KBO! The production is deliberately lo-fi, with vocals buried under distorted guitars. Lyrically, even at this stage, frontman Milan "Mladen" Mihajlović (often credited simply as "Mladen") established his trademarks: tirades against local bullies, celebrations of cheap wine, and sardonic observations about Pančevo’s polluted, dying industrial landscape. This album is widely considered their masterpiece

A live album recorded over two nights at the legendary in Pančevo. Druga strana medalje is not a "best of" but rather a document of the band’s onstage energy. It includes rare covers: a ferocious take on Električni Orgazam’s "Krokodili dolaze" and an unexpected, nearly unrecognizable punk version of the traditional folk song "Tamo daleko." The between-song banter, filled with profane jokes and political rants, is preserved in full. For fans, this is the definitive Brkovi live experience. For newcomers, it serves as an excellent career summary up to that point.

No is complete without their live material. The band is notorious for being louder and drunker on stage than in the studio.

Brkovi have carved out a unique space in the Balkan music scene by blending high-energy punk rock with turbo-folk elements—a genre they’ve jokingly dubbed "turbo-punk-folk-wellness." Their discography is a consistent celebration of satire, humor, and raw social commentary. Overview of Studio Albums
